Dear Colleague:

Since becoming a member of the CALBO Board of Directors in 2009, I have had the opportunity to serve with exceptional Presidents, Board Members, Executive Director and his staff. They have guided CALBO with skillful hands and insightful wisdom through the most severe economic downturn in modern times. It is with great optimism that we are now turning our focus on the positive signs of the improved economy. It is also with great optimism that CALBO starts its 52nd year as California’s largest governmental building membership organization. CALBO has certainly “turned the corner” over the past years, and is well positioned to support our member’s success. It is within this context that I envision a future in which CALBO will:

1. Continue to be the premier governmental building membership organization in the nation
2. Sponsor first rate educational events through CTI
3. Help create a Region I of ICC to improve western advocacy and collaboration
4. Stabilize and improve CALBO’s financial future
5. Grow and encourage membership and volunteerism

CALBO has a strong foundation to support this vision becoming a reality over the coming years. Our success can only be measured by your success as members, so we need you to be more involved in 2013/14. Start by letting the Board know how we can better support you; join a committee, volunteer to teach a class, attend the Education Weeks, participate in Leadership & Advocacy Day and attend the Annual Business Meeting.
